Best Products for Pregnancy and Baby’s First Year

February is an awards season, the Oscars, the Bafta, and other organisations choose the best films and music of the previous year. So I decided it’s only fair to establish a Jar of Joy Blog award night and it’s tonight! Please wear your ball gown, have a glass of champagne, and enjoy the selection of the best pregnancy and baby’s first year products.

I have picked products that are not as widely featured in media and are likely to be overlooked, but at the same time, I found them outstanding during my pregnancy and maternity years.

  1. Bbhugme pregnancy pillow. This pillow is absolutely amazing, with no hurting hip, pretty much no night cramps, and comfortable sleep throughout my second pregnancy when I used it. Everyone in my family from the toddler to my husband looked jealous for the pillow too and used every opportunity to lay down on it!

  2. Seraphine clothes. I love Seraphine pregnancy and post-pregnancy fashion, but even more than that I love the feel of the bamboo-based luxurious cotton in pregnancy and nursing t-shirts and nightwear. It felt absolutely amazing to put them on while recovering from birth.

  3. Your baby week by week is the best book to guide through newborn time. It has short chapters with sections on each important aspect and straight-to-the-point notes. I found them simply the best to keep focused and guided. I read it both times with my girl and my baby boy, it was excellent to remind me about things for the second time too.

  4. Lamaze Rainbow Glow Baby Rattle Toy has never failed to captivate the attention of any baby I have met. Highly engaging thanks for sound, changing colours light, and chewy sides.

  5. The double base gel is amazingly effective to maintain eczema-prone or dry baby skin. We have it on prescription, but it’s also available over the counter, albeit expensive.

  6. Haliborange baby and toddler multivitamins liquid is a lifesaver. It’s the only vitamins my kids actually agree to take with no fuzz. It took me a long time to find it and it was a struggle all the time before that.

  7. The yoyo stroller has been absolutely the best, not only for traveling and taking it on the plane, tube, train and not only to carry it to the fifth floor by stairs in Russia up and down every day but also being so maneuverable, so stable and so light! (how did they do that?!) We much preferred to use it every day once we got it.

  8. Cosatto Easi Peasi Changing Station has been outstanding throughout years of use with my daughter first and now with the baby boy. It may not be the most stylish looking furniture for a nursery. But it has a fun design and it’s sooo practical. The table is big with high sides, good to feel confident putting wriggly baby on it. The trays underneath are the best for used pampers, dirty clothes, and anything you might need to put down without stepping away from the station. The bottom part is perfect for storing nappies. And the fun pattern actually keeps the baby entertained from about 3 months old onwards.

  9. Next is my favourite for baby fashion. It’s particularly good for my slim and tall girl. The baby boy is quite big and grows out of Next clothes quickly, but I still buy knitwear for him in Next and it serves long.

  10. Old MacDonald Had a Farm (Finger Puppet Board Book) is the absolute favourite and the best first book I found. My baby boy adores it and always tries to catch the finger puppet, and his big sister loves to sing along.

  11. Cuddledry bamboo soft hooded towels are my favourite. There are plenty of baby hooded towels on offer, but babies grow out of them fairly quickly. These ones are bigger, have a snap button to hold the towel in place, and of course soft and cuddly. My baby boy is a very happy bunny in his bunny towel after a bath!

  12. Small Sofie giraffe, I found, is much better suited for babies under one. It doesn’t have a squeaky sound, but it has so convenient handles to hold it, and it’s so deliciously chewy. If you want to buy a Sofie, I recommend going for this one.

  13. Messy Monster silicone bibs have served us for three years, flexible and pleasant to have them on. Easy to clean and easy to roll and put in the bag. Catch anything that falls brilliantly. Look no further, these are the best!

  14. Baby snug and activity tray from Mamas and Papas serves us really well with the baby boy. He can sit with us in the kitchen and feel part of the family while having enough to entertain him on the tray. I also use the table part to feed him and I use the seat anywhere in the home where I want to have the boy with me.

  15. Tiny beans application is your very own private social media. You invite people who you want to be in your network using their email. Then you can upload pictures and journal about your baby daily and everyone in the network can see and comment. It’s fun and it allows me to keep all the members of our family up-to-date around the globe. I get really fun comments from friends and family too. It’s been more than three years and I still keep the photo updates. There are options for printing photo books too.

I hope you enjoyed the Jar of Joy Blog award night. Please comment with any other products you want to add!
