Baking Made Simple

The festive season is perfect for baking. It’s a wonderful activity with little ones as well - my daughter absolutely loves baking. In fact, she loves baking a lot more than me. I actually very rarely baked before my daughter was born. But now we both enjoy the process very much. It’s one of the things that is “our thing” to do together. The preparation process with all the mixing and cutting is exciting for my daughter. The baking process in the hot oven is mysterious. And the eating after that is so rewarding! She also learns to share with the family what she bakes even when she wants to eat it all herself! I prefer to choose simple recipes where my daughter can help and not run out of patience, but of course, we both want a delicious result.

One of the discoveries I made in the search for a simple solution is “Jusrol” ready to bake products and pastry dough. These are pre-prepared doughs that allow you to speed up the baking process while still being creative and making a large variety of bakery. The package normally has a recipe on it to make everything even easier. However, I found that if I go on the website and look for recipes, there is much more that can be done with the ready to bake dough.

If you don’t have the “Jusrol” brand in your country, I am sure the recipes from the website can still be used with dough from another brand.

Our favourites are: Cheesy Chorizo & Pepper Tear and Share bread and Cinnamon Apple Buns. But there are so many more recipes to explore. In the past, we have made pizza all together as a family using pizza dough. I am looking forward to trying some of the Christmas recipes from the website soon. I also use the ready-made pastry with my own fillings for some recipes I have from Russia. I will share them in another blog.
