Two Annual Memberships for Days Out with Kids
As the lockdown eases here in the UK and more and more places reopen, we as a family try to stay cautious and see how the pandemic continues to develop. Still, there are places we missed very much and are excited to buy the annual membership back! If anything I’ve come to appreciate and value the places even more! They are fantastic for days out with kids!
The first one is a farm. It’s funny how much excitement it can bring! Before we arranged a visit we studied the sounds farm animals make with my little boy. I bought a book with natural sounds and he absolutely loves it. We also learnt the names of the animals in French with my girl. It was so much fun to dream and prepare for our trip to the farm!
And then that day came, the excitement was at the peak, we couldn’t wait and the farm didn’t let us down. There were goats, and my daughter’s favourite sheep and pigs and even a camel! (does anyone know what sound a camel makes?!) We explored as much as we could. But there were also adventure playgrounds. It appeared the beautiful gigantic sandpit was my kids’ favourite. They could play there all day I bet!
We’ve been back since then many times and can’t wait for our next visit again. There are places for picnics, different birds and animals to see, and many playgrounds to play in. I can see us spending summer 2021 at the farm and not getting bored of it!
The second place is an RHS garden (Royal Horticultural Society garden). What a fantastic peaceful place! Yes, I mean it, even with kids. The landscaped garden, always changing plants scenery, blossom, birds singing and breathtaking surroundings can heal any soul. There are open spaces to run for the kids, plants to see, fish in the pond, and often some trails and activities on offer. I love the idea of exploring with kids and enjoying nature. My daughter enjoys a rocky Japanese garden and seeing fish the most. I can’t wait for my son to visit too. And for all of us to have a picnic on a beautiful launce.
Perhaps, one day, I’ll learn about gardening. But for now, I can always come to the RHS garden to enjoy.
