Best Recipe for White Mulled Wine

Christmas holidays might be over, but the winter is still here, more cold days are to come and so there is no reason to stop drinking mulled wine! I want to share with you my family’s mulled wine recipe. It’s absolutely delicious, the best mulled wine I ever tried and it’s passed through generations in our family. Ok, by that I mean from my father to me, but I am confident as my kids grow and try it they will want the recipe too. I am usually a red wine person, but I absolutely love this white mulled wine.

Ingredients

  • 0.75L of medium-dry white wine

  • 1 orange

  • 100g caster sugar

  • 0.5 glass of water

  • 2 or 3 cinnamon sticks

  • 2 cloves

Method

  1. Put the water in a pot, add the sugar, the cinnamon, the cloves, and the orange sliced in circles, bring to boil, then filter.

  2. Add the wine, warm to about 70˚C, and serve hot. I add the filtered orange slices into the mugs for serving.

I hope you will enjoy the mulled wine as much as I do. I love having it after a ski trip to the forest back in Russia, but it’s also good after a walk on a cold day here in the UK.
